Job Title: Epidemiology Data Analytics Contractor
Job Description
The Epidemiology Data Analytics Consultant is responsible for conducting real-world data analytics in oncology within the Global Epidemiology function. The role involves contributing to data analysis plan documentation, managing systematic programming approaches, and deriving clinical variables and outcomes from real-world data. The consultant will operationalize clinical variables, prepare relevant tables and figures, and contribute to result interpretation. Additionally, the consultant will understand the strengths and weaknesses of specific databases and deliver data analysis results to epidemiologists or cross-functional team members.
Responsibilities
β’ Understand and apply general to advanced epidemiology research techniques to answer research questions related to drug safety.
β’ Perform advanced SAS programming to operationalize clinical concepts and measures in oncology.
β’ Contribute to the design of observational studies using real-world data through data exploration.
β’ Document and manage data analysis plans and analyze specific epidemiology databases to prepare results in relevant tables, figures, and visualizations.
β’ Conduct comprehensive literature reviews for analytics methodology and coding algorithms related to real-world data.
β’ Communicate with RWD vendors to coordinate technical support for analytic and data quality issues for in-licensed RWD sources.
β’ Develop a repository of best practices around RWD and establish design principles and standards to ensure consistency across analytical work projects.
β’ Anticipate and communicate potential issues that could impact timelines or quality and propose solutions to mitigate these risks.
Essential Skills
β’ Proficiency in SAS, SQL, R, or related statistical software for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
β’ Strong knowledge of RWD, epidemiology, oncology, and real-world data concepts and structures.
β’ Experience in SAS programming and validation of tables, listings, and graphs for compound projects.
β’ 4-5 years of epidemiology and/or public health experience with a Master's degree or 1-2 years of experience with a Ph.D. degree.
β’ Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
β’ MPH or MS degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field. Ph.D. is preferred.
β’ SAS Advanced Programming certificate is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with oncology EMRs and health insurance claims.
β’ Extensive experience in manipulating and analyzing real-world databases.
β’ Clinical experience is preferred.
Work Environment
This position is 100% remote, allowing for flexibility and the ability to work from anywhere.
