Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to drive the architecture, delivery, and operational excellence of enterprise payment platforms. This role will focus on building scalable, high-performance systems, establishing engineering best practices, and leading the transition toward strong internal ownership of critical services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and business alignment in high-transaction environments.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Own platform roadmap, architecture, and delivery across enterprise payment systems
β’ Define and enforce standards for reliability, scalability, observability, and change management
β’ Collaborate with product, finance, SRE, and operations teams to prioritize and execute initiatives
β’ Lead engineering teams, provide technical guidance, and ensure high-quality delivery
β’ Drive transition from external/vendor-led execution to internal engineering ownership
β’ Ensure system readiness for high-volume, production-critical transaction environments
β’ Establish best practices across development, testing, deployment, and release management
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs/masterβs degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience)
β’ 10+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in leadership roles
β’ Strong expertise in microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures
β’ Experience with distributed systems, observability, and production engineering
β’ Proven experience working with high-volume transaction platforms (e.g., payments, financial systems)
β’ Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have:
β’ Experience in payments, settlements, or reconciliation systems
β’ Exposure to compliance-heavy or audit-sensitive environments
β’ Experience driving engineering transformations or platform modernization initiatives
