Team Red Dog is seeking a skilled ESG and Sustainability Data Lead to oversee ESG data management and governance for a high-impact business group for our client, a global technology company. This fully remote role is a rare opportunity to drive sustainability initiatives, partner with cross-functional experts, and directly influence the company’s global sustainability and social impact goals. 1. Sustainability & ESG Data Management: Minimum 5+ years’ experience with sustainability and ESG data sets, analysis, and visualization, including data governance and quality assurance.
1. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Demonstrated ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders across large organizations, driving audit readiness, process improvement, and reporting to senior management.
1. Technical Tools & Data Visualization: Hands-on experience with advanced data management strategies, data analysis, and visualization tools (such as Power BI), with a proven ability to drive actionable insights for sustainability initiatives.
Opportunity Overview:
This role is responsible for driving data management excellence in on our client’s Cloud Operations & Innovation team, ensuring ESG data aligns with the highest standards of quality, security, and regulatory compliance. As a senior team member, you will develop and implement data management strategies, improve audit readiness, enable performance tracking, and connect sustainability data to measurable business impact. You’ll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and sustainability experts to define best practices, provide mentorship, and create a culture of continuous improvement.
How You Will Make an Impact:
• Oversee ESG data management and governance for the business group, ensuring alignment with sustainability and regulatory goals.
• Develop and implement data management strategies to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
• Engage with stakeholders across the business group to improve data maturity, drive audit readiness, and support regulatory requirements.
• Enable data analysis and performance tracking related to Microsoft’s sustainability commitments.
• Drive innovative data analysis approaches, translating insights into actionable recommendations for ESG and sustainability performance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members and collaborate cross-functionally to execute robust data management plans.
• Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership and partners.
The Expertise You Bring:
• 5+ years of direct experience with sustainability data management, ESG datasets, and data analysis/visualization (Power BI or similar).
• Advanced communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated experience driving process improvements, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong technical background in data management, security, and governance.
• Master’s degree in Sustainability, Data Science, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field required; data management or project management certifications (e.g., CDMP, PMP) are a plus.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, cross-functional environment.
