About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned ETL Developer to join our Data Integration team. This critical role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-volume data exchange solutions, with a strong emphasis on healthcare data standards (EDI) and ensuring regulatory compliance. The developer will work across the full data lifecycle, from requirements gathering and ETL design to performance optimization and Master Data Management (MDM) support.
Key Responsibilities
Data Integration and Pipeline Development
β’ Design and implement scalable ETL workflows using industry tools such as Microsoft SSIS and Informatica to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
β’ Develop and maintain complex data exchange maps and workflows with external partners, ensuring data quality and integrity.
β’ Manage data transfer protocols, including flat file integrations and secure communications like FTP/SFTP.
β’ Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize ETL job performance, reliability, and error-handling processes to ensure high system uptime.
Healthcare EDI and Compliance
β’ Work extensively with ANSI X12 and HIPAA-compliant transaction sets including 834 (Eligibility), 837 (Claims), 835 (Remittance), 270/271 (Inquiry/Response), and 276/277 (Status).
β’ Apply knowledge of NCPDP pharmacy standards to collaborate on claims and formulary workflows.
β’ Ensure all data exchange and integration processes maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and security best practices, including data encryption.
Database and Data Governance
β’ Utilize advanced SQL scripting for data manipulation, transformation, and performance tuning within relational databases (SQL Server preferred).
β’ Contribute to Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives, including defining processes, policies, and monitoring MDM services for data consistency.
β’ Partner with business teams (e.g., Claims, Enrollment, Billing) to gather detailed data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
β’ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and document data integration processes thoroughly.
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
β’ 5+ years of professional experience in systems integrations and/or ETL development.
β’ 3+ years of hands-on experience in healthcare EDI development.
β’ Expertise with major ETL platforms, specifically Informatica and/or Microsoft SSIS.
β’ 5+ years of relational database experience and strong command of SQL.
β’ Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., XML, XSLT, SQL) and using mapping tools.
β’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to troubleshoot complex integrations and data anomalies.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with advanced integration topics such as Web APIs, data streams, or cloud integrations.
β’ Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Power BI).
β’ Experience with data modeling methodologies.
