Role description
Software Engineer – ETRM/CTRM This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing trading and supply environment. The Software Engineer will partner closely with IT teams and business stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions across projects, enhancements, and support initiatives. Key responsibilities include analyzing business needs, designing scalable solutions, implementing fixes and enhancements, and delivering new technology through both in-house development and third-party packages. The role requires strong collaboration, adherence to established processes, and active participation in global IT community practices. Responsibilities Translate functional requirements into technical specifications with input from subject matter experts. Prototype and pilot new solutions, including procurement, setup, and deployment. Support all phases of the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation, and production support. Deliver scalable and sustainable solutions for a global user base. Build open and trusted relationships with business stakeholders and IT partners. Contribute to process improvements and knowledge-sharing within the global IT team. Experience & Qualifications 5–7 years of IT experience, with a strong focus on Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM/CTRM). Bachelor’s degree in IT or related discipline. Proven success in application support and development within corporate environments. Full lifecycle software development experience. Background in managing complex application landscapes (change management, testing, patching, and user support). Experience with business-critical solutions in trade capture, risk management, scheduling, operations, settlements, or accounting. Technical Skills Hands-on expertise with OpenLink Endur (v11+), including JVS and OpenComponents. Proficiency in Java, .NET, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, and Informatica. Strong knowledge of Endur database schema and SQL performance tuning. Experience with Connex, Grid Enabled Scripts, Operation Services, and Trade Process Management (TPM). Familiarity with software design principles, coding standards, and quality management. Practical use of Azure DevOps (VSTS, Git) for modern delivery practices. Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver across concurrent demands.
