Financial Accountant

Venn Group is delighted to be recruiting for a Financial Accountant role with a renowned broadcasting organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic finance team, managing statutory and consolidated reporting, advising on technical accounting issues, and ensuring compliance across multiple UKentities. The role involves handling complex accounting projects, liaising with auditors, and supporting business teams to deliver accurate, timely financial information. Key responsibilities of the role: • Prepare standalone financial statements and notes for UK entities • Support the preparation of parent company consolidated accounts and year-end submissions • Liaise with external auditors to resolve queries and ensure smooth audits • Advise on technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition, investments, impairment, leases, tax, FX, consolidation, and eliminations • Partner with finance teams to maintain financial accuracy and tax compliance • Provide financial data to the tax team and support foreign exchange management • Review and reconcile balance sheets and intercompany accounts • Support month-end and year-end close processes • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting as required • Identify process improvements and support finance transformation initiatives • Assist with ad hoc projects and tasks as required Ideal candidate profile: • ACA or ACCA qualified with strong auditing and financial accounting experience • Solid knowledge of IFRS, FRS 101, and consolidation principles • Experience leading or mentoring junior team members and managing team workloads • Strong proficiency in Excel, with hands-on experience in financial reporting and analysis • Desirable: Big 4 experience, familiarity with SAP, experience in media/entertainment or matrix organisations, and exposure to data analysis tools such as Power BI or Tableau Location: London Duration: 4 month interim contract, likely extension Daily rate: £350 - £450 per day (paid via an Umbrella company, inside iR35) Working hours: Full time Working pattern: Hybrid (2 days per week on-site) This vacancy will be actively shortlisted so early applications are encouraged to avoid missing out.
