Financial Data Analyst

Responsibilities Kforce has a client that is seeking a Financial Data Analyst in Sarasota, FL. Responsibilities generally include: • Data collection and analysis: Gather and interpret complex financial data from multiple sources, including internal financial statements, market research, and economic trends • Financial modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning • Reporting and visualization: Create and present clear, data-driven reports and interactive dashboards using visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau to communicate key insights to stakeholders • Performance monitoring: Conduct variance and performance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement • Collaboration: Work closely with finance, accounting, and other cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and support strategic initiatives • Process improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting processes Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting • Auditing experience, particularly in support of county audits • Accounting experience is required • Experience with year-end and month-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals (hands-on with annual close) • Solid understanding of GAAP • Familiarity with financial enterprise systems and OnBase (document repository) • Strong analytical and research skills • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs); Ability to work with and annotate PDFs • Comfortable handling large data sets (some with thousands of lines of Excel data) • Ability to run reports from the GL system and perform analytical review • Big 4 experience is a strong plus The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
