Fuji Synapse RIS Engineer
Contract - 12 Month +
Pay: $68 - $74/HR
The RIS Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, support, and optimization of our Fuji Synapse RIS environment. This role requires a deep understanding of radiology workflows, RIS functionalities, HL7 integration, system troubleshooting, and a commitment to ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our radiology services. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with radiology staff, IT colleagues, and vendors.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and participate in the planning, implementation, and upgrade of the Fuji Synapse RIS system and related modules.
• Configure and customize the Fuji Synapse RIS to meet the specific needs of our radiology departments and clinical workflows.
• Manage and maintain the integrity, security, and performance of the Fuji Synapse RIS database and application servers.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to the RIS system configuration, workflows, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Collaborate with radiology staff (radiologists, technologists, administrators) to understand their needs and translate them into system requirements and solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the Fuji Synapse RIS, including application errors, integration problems, and performance bottlenecks.
• Provide technical support and training to radiology staff on the effective use of the Fuji Synapse RIS.
• Work closely with vendors (Fuji and other related software providers) for system support, upgrades, and issue resolution.
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical RIS issues.
• Stay current with the latest Fuji Synapse RIS features, updates, and industry best practices.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of data analytics and reporting solutions within the RIS environment.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and data security standards (e.g., HIPAA).
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
• 3 or more years in supporting, configuring, and maintaining Fuji Synapse RIS in a healthcare environment.
• In-depth knowledge of radiology workflows, procedures, and terminology.
• Strong understanding of HL7 standards and experience with interface configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with report writing tools and data extraction from RIS systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with PACS administration and integration with RIS is a plus.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, SQL scripting) for automation tasks is a plus.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA) and data security best practices.
