Introduction
Our client is seeking a Full Stack Industry 4.0 Engineer to help accelerate the digital transformation of its manufacturing operations at its Lafayette, IN facility. This role will connect manufacturing equipment, enable industrial data collection, and transform machine and process data into actionable insights that improve operational performance. Working across manufacturing engineering, operations, IT/OT, and transformation teams, you'll build scalable Industry 4.0 solutions that drive smarter, data-driven decision making across the plant.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Connect manufacturing equipment, sensors, and industrial systems to enterprise data platforms.
• Collaborate with Controls Engineering and IT/OT teams to establish secure and reliable machine connectivity.
• Validate machine signals, telemetry, data quality, and asset health.
• Design and develop data pipelines that support near real-time and historical manufacturing analytics.
• Structure, normalize, and document manufacturing data for long-term scalability and reporting.
• Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations that convert operational data into actionable business insights.
• Analyze manufacturing performance related to safety, quality, throughput, utilization, and equipment reliability.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, EHS, and IT/OT teams to align analytics with shop floor decision-making.
• Lead data review sessions with plant stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities and track action items.
• Develop repeatable Industry 4.0 deployment patterns and best practices that can be leveraged across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Document connected assets, data definitions, reporting processes, and deployment methodologies for future sustainment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered.
• Hands-on experience connecting manufacturing equipment, industrial machines, or IIoT devices.
• Strong experience acquiring, structuring, and transforming machine or process data into actionable operational insights.
• Experience developing data pipelines supporting both near real-time and historical analytics.
• Experience with manufacturing analytics, industrial reporting, and data visualization tools.
• Ability to create dashboards and reports using platforms such as Power BI or similar visualization technologies.
• Experience working within manufacturing, industrial, or plant environments.
• Comfortable collaborating across Operations Technology (OT), Information Technology (IT), Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations teams.
• Strong understanding of industrial data quality, validation, and normalization practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced contract environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into business recommendations.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing, or Digital Manufacturing initiatives.
