Required Certification: Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect
GCP Solutions Architect to design, build, and oversee our enterprise cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will lead the migration of legacy workloads, architect highly scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native solutions, and establish best practices across our Google Cloud environment.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with hands-on technical depth, possesses an active Professional GCP Certification, and has a proven track record of optimizing cloud performance and spend.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and deploy robust, scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on GCP, aligning infrastructure with complex business requirements.
• Lead the strategy and execution of migrating on-premises workloads and applications to GCP utilizing lift-and-shift, re-platforming, or refactoring strategies.
• Architect scalable data pipelines and storage solutions using BigQuery, Cloud Spanner, Cloud SQL, and Dataproc/Dataflow.
• Implement enterprise-grade security frameworks, identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, and network security policies (VPCs, Firewalls, Cloud Armor).
• Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform to automate provisioning and environment deployments.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud consumption and performance metrics to ensure maximum ROI and efficiency.
• Partner with DevOps, Security, and Engineering teams to troubleshoot architectural bottlenecks and mentor junior engineers on GCP best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Certification: Active Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect (Required).
• 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure/software engineering, with at least 3-5 years specifically focused on designing and implementing GCP architectures.
• Deep expertise in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Compute Engine, and serverless compute options (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions).
• Strong understanding of GCP networking concepts, including Shared VPCs, Cloud VPN, Cloud Interconnect, and load balancing.
• Proficiency with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and relational/non-relational database design.
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud architectures (Anthos).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Secondary GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Professional Data Engineer).
