This role is pivotal in supporting the migration from Power BI to Google Looker and BigQuery, optimizing data architecture on GCP, and enhancing end-to-end platform scalability, performance, and governance. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary technical interface for US-based stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and execution across business and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, design, and guide implementation of scalable and secure data platforms using BigQuery, Looker, and GCP-native services.
Collaborate with CSG stakeholders to define data migration roadmaps, semantic models, and performance benchmarks.
Optimize BigQuery datasets using partitioning, clustering, and materialized views for performance and cost efficiency.
Drive best practices in LookML modeling, self-service dashboards, and data governance in Looker.
Provide leadership around data architecture patterns, data lineage, access control, and data cataloging.
Ensure alignment with Google Cloud's Well-Architected Framework.
Support application-layer data integration (e.g., Oracle Fusion, CRM systems).
Mentor teams, support code reviews, framework creation, and migration accelerators.
Work with DevOps and Platform Engineering on CI/CD, Terraform-based infrastructure, and automated testing pipelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in data architecture, with at least 3+ years on GCP.
Deep expertise in BigQuery optimization, data modeling, cost management, and query tuning.
Hands-on experience with Looker development (LookML) and dashboard governance.
Familiarity with Google Data Catalog, Dataform, Composer, and Data Fusion.
Experience with enterprise-grade systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion) and AMS practices.
Ability to guide migration from Power BI to Looker.
Excellent stakeholder communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working in an Agile, sprint-based model.
