The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geographic information systems (GIS), data analysis, and project management. This role involves utilizing various tools and technologies to analyze spatial data, create maps, and support decision-making processes in various projects. The Geographer will work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure accurate data collection and effective communication of geographic information.
Duties
Utilize GIS software such as ArcGIS to analyze spatial data and create detailed maps for various projects.
Conduct land surveying and GPS data collection to gather accurate geographical information.
Manage databases and relational databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for analysis.
Perform data visualization to present findings in an understandable format for stakeholders.
Collaborate with project teams to provide geographic insights that inform project planning and execution.
Develop scripts using Python, JavaScript, or other scripting languages to automate data processing tasks.
Lead projects involving geographic analysis, ensuring timelines are met and objectives achieved.
Conduct thorough analysis of geographic data, utilizing SQL for database queries and management.
Support construction projects by providing necessary geographic information and analysis skills.
Maintain documentation of methodologies used in data collection, analysis, and visualization processes.
Requirements
Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and CAD tools (AutoCAD) is essential.
Strong skills in land surveying techniques and GPS technology.
Experience with SQL for database management and querying is required.
Knowledge of Python or JavaScript for scripting tasks is preferred.
Excellent data visualization skills to effectively communicate complex information.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret geographic data accurately.
Familiarity with project management principles to lead initiatives effectively.
Experience with SharePoint for document management is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating leadership capabilities.
