Role description
Job Summary (List Format) – GIS Analyst At NYC β€’ Support Geospatial Data: Create, migrate, and maintain accurate geospatial records for Con Edison’s telecommunication and data network infrastructure using Ericsson GIS Software. β€’ Data Migration & Infrastructure: Convert and migrate network infrastructure data (OSP/ISP fiber, manholes, vaults, equipment, circuit layout records, etc.) into GIS systems. β€’ Mapping & Analysis: Review, update, and generate land maps; compile geographic data from multiple sources; analyze spatial relationships and produce actionable maps and reports. β€’ GIS Application Development: Build and upgrade GIS applications, including evaluating and recommending upgrades for Ericsson Network Engineer Map Based GIS platform. β€’ Ensure Data Integrity: Maintain high standards for database accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all GIS systems. β€’ Cross-team Collaboration: Communicate GIS insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders; collaborate closely with IT, engineering, and contractor teams. β€’ Reporting & Documentation: Provide clear, timely, and actionable reports and maps to support operational and engineering decision-making. β€’ Research: Locate and obtain existing databases to enhance network records and ensure comprehensive data coverage. β€’ Technical Proficiency: Utilize ESRI ArcGIS, Ericsson Network Engineer Map Based GIS, and/or AutoCAD for mapping and data management. β€’ Telecom Infrastructure Knowledge: Understand both Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) fiber infrastructure and network connectivity. β€’ Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree or certifications (GISP, Esri), experience in large-scale telecom GIS projects, expertise with geospatial database management, and demonstrated leadership in GIS application upgrades.
