Role description
Title: GIS Architect Location: Reading Pennsylvania – Highly preference for candidates willing to work in a Hybrid capacity but will explore remote Term: Contract They must have experience with geospatial data, preferably the vendor ESRI, but if not ArcGIS and QGIS are equivalent systems. β€’ Expertise in capturing and derving spatial and tabular data from a variety of sources, including both hard copy and soft copy formats. There should be proficiency in leveraging data from both internal and external cloud environments, and have a strong understanding of data and system integrity to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of GIS data. Additionally, vendors should have competencies in leveraging ArcGIS Online to build applications and manage data. β€’ Proficiency in GIS software and tools β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills β€’ Experience with data collection, manipulation, and visualization β€’ Ability to manage and interpret various geospatial data types β€’ Cartography and mapping skills β€’ Computer programming and database management knowledge Responsibilities: β€’ Data Collection & Management: Gathering, organizing, and ensuring the integrity of geospatial data from diverse sources, including satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and GPS data. β€’ Analysis: Applying spatial analysis techniques to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within geographic data to provide insights and support strategic planning. β€’ Mapping & Visualization: Creating detailed maps, charts, and other visual representations to communicate complex spatial information effectively. β€’ Database Development: Building and maintaining spatial databases, ensuring data consistency, and managing metadata for proper documentation and usage. β€’ Software & Tools: Utilizing GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS), programming languages, and other relevant technologies to process and analyze data.
