Business Systems Analyst β Grant System Modernization
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to support a high-impact initiative focused on modernizing and centralizing a grant administration system. This system will support the full lifecycle of state and federally funded grant programs, aiming to improve transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency.
The selected candidate will work closely with a dedicated project teamβincluding a Project Manager, Systems Architect, and additional stakeholder engagement resourcesβto define requirements, analyze business processes, and support system design and implementation planning.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Lead stakeholder engagement sessions to gather and prioritize business needs
β’ Document current-state workflows, systems, and data flows
β’ Develop future-state process maps and detailed business requirements
β’ Draft functional and technical documentation, including use cases and system specifications
β’ Conduct gap analysis, data mapping, and define reporting needs
β’ Translate business requirements into actionable user stories and process flows
β’ Support feasibility analysis and system architecture design
β’ Collaborate with technical teams to ensure business needs are addressed
β’ Assist in user testing and support training efforts as needed
Required Skills:
β’ 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role
β’ Proven success in system implementation or process improvement projects
β’ Strong experience gathering/documenting business and technical requirements
β’ Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT, business users, and external vendors
Preferred Skills:
β’ Certification in Business Analysis, Lean Six Sigma, or Change Management
β’ Experience with grant management or enterprise-level systems
β’ Background in financial system integration projects
β’ Familiarity with public sector funding or operational processes
Project Goals:
β’ Streamline the grant application, review, award, and monitoring processes
β’ Enhance data management and reporting capabilities
β’ Ensure compliance with relevant regulations
