Guidewire Policy Center Developer Lead
Worcester, MA (Hybrid)
Job Responsibilities:
β’ Development & Configuration:
β’ Customize and enhance PolicyCenter workflows, entities, business rules, and user interfaces using Gosu, PCF, and Guidewire Studio.
β’ Develop reusable components and frameworks to accelerate future development efforts.
Integration:
β’ Design, develop, and maintain integrations with external systems (BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, third-party services) using APIs, web services (SOAP/REST), and messaging queues.
β’ Ensure robust and secure data exchange across platforms.
Requirements & Design:
β’ Collaborate with business stakeholders and analysts to analyze requirements and translate business needs into scalable technical designs.
β’ Create and maintain detailed design and configuration documentation.
Collaboration:
β’ Work closely with architects, QA, business analysts, and other developers within Agile teams (participate in sprints, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
β’ Mentor and guide junior developers, sharing best practices and technical expertise.
Quality Assurance:
β’ Conduct unit, integration, and system testing, ensuring solutions meet functional and performance requirements.
β’ Perform code reviews, optimize application performance, and enforce coding standards.
Support:
β’ Provide production support for PolicyCenter applications, including troubleshooting, defect resolution, and root cause analysis.
β’ Support release management and deployment activities.
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
β’ 8+ years of experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter development and integration.
β’ Demonstrated leadership in technical delivery and team collaboration.
β’ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
β’ Must be onsite at least 2 days/week in Worcester, Massachusetts
Key Skills & Technologies:
β’ Guidewire Suite:
β’ Deep expertise in PolicyCenter, Gosu programming, Guidewire Studio, and PCF configuration.
Programming:
β’ Proficient in Java and Gosu.
β’ Experience developing and consuming web services (SOAP/REST).
Tools:
β’ Jira (user stories, sprint planning, defect tracking)
β’ Git/Bitbucket (version control)
β’ Ant, Maven, Gradle (build automation)
β’ SOAP UI, Postman (API testing)
Concepts:
β’ Strong understanding of P&C insurance domain and data modeling.
β’ Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
β’ Knowledge of integration patterns and scalable solution design.
β’ Preferred Skills:
β’ Guidewire certifications (PolicyCenter, Integration) are a plus.
β’ Experience with other Guidewire modules (BillingCenter, ClaimCenter).
β’ Prior experience in insurance or financial services domains.
