JOB TITLE: Business Intelligence (BI) Data Analyst
LOCATION: Saint Paul, MN
DURATION OF PROJECT: 12 months or longer with possible extensions
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to support Business Intelligence initiatives focused on Substance Use Disorder (SUD) programs, funding streams, and healthcare analytics. This role will analyze clinical, operational, and financial data across Medicaid, grant-funded, and state-administered SUD programs to drive data-informed decision-making, compliance reporting, and funding optimization.
The ideal candidate understands the intersection of healthcare data, SUD program outcomes, reimbursement models, and funding compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze SUD program data including service utilization, treatment retention, relapse rates, and MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) metrics.
Develop recurring and ad-hoc reports supporting Medicaid, block grants, opioid settlement funds, and other funding streams.
Create dashboards and visualizations using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
Validate and reconcile claims, billing, and EHR data for accuracy and completeness.
Perform trend analysis to identify gaps in service delivery, reimbursement variances, and funding utilization.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelorβs degree in Data Analytics, Healthcare Informatics, Public Health, Business Analytics, or related field.
Require a minimum of 2+ years of experience in healthcare data analysis.
Experience working with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) or Behavioral Health programs.
Strong proficiency in: SQL, Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, data modeling), BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or similar).
Experience analyzing Medicaid claims, EHR, or healthcare billing data.
Understanding of healthcare funding models and regulatory reporting.
Experience supporting Medicaid 1115 waiver or CCBHC reporting.
Familiarity with grant reporting and funding allocation tracking.
Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS).
Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR).
Exposure to population health or predictive analytics.
