Position: Quality Analyst III
Client: Health Insurance Client
Location: 100% Remote - EST Work Schedule
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 6-month Contract
Summary:
The Quality Analyst III is responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and transforming complex healthcare data to support quality improvement initiatives across the organization. This role partners with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights, enhance reporting capabilities, and support payer quality programs such as HEDIS, Population Health, Pharmacy Quality, Health Equity, and Accreditation activities.
Essential Functions:
β’ Develop and maintain comprehensive reports, dashboards, and visualizations that clearly summarize data and performance trends for key stakeholders.
β’ Review data for patterns, special-cause variation, and emerging trends; provide clear, concise summaries explaining key findings and operational implications.
β’ Provide technical guidance on SQL and Alteryx best practices, workflows, data transformations, and data source utilization.
β’ Interpret and maintain understanding of technical specifications and quality reporting requirements, ensuring timely implementation of updates and communication to relevant stakeholders.
β’ Collaborate closely with business partners to evaluate data patterns, investigate issues, and identify improvement opportunities.
β’ Gather, validate, and refine business requirements for analytics requests across HEDIS, Population Health, Pharmacy Quality, Accreditation, Health Equity, business development, and RFP initiatives.
β’ Partner with IT and data engineering teams to improve data collection, data quality, and reporting infrastructure.
Education and Experience:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in MIS, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Public Health, or related field (or equivalent work experience) required.
β’ Masterβs degree in Public Health (MPH), Business Administration (MBA), Statistics, Mathematics, or related field preferred.
β’ Minimum of three (3) years of experience in data analysis or analytic programming required.
β’ Minimum of three (3) years of experience with HEDIS or similar healthcare quality performance metrics required.
β’ 3β5 years of programming experience using SQL and analytic tools is required.
β’ Experience with Alteryx Designer (reporting, workflows, automation) required or strongly preferred.
β’ Experience in healthcare payer or clinical delivery settings preferred.
Competencies, Knowledge, and Skills:
β’ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
β’ Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills with the ability to address multi-dimensional business questions.
β’ Proficiency in SQL and Alteryx (workflow development, ETL processes, automation).
β’ Understanding of managed care principles, payer operations, and healthcare data structures.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to present complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
β’ Ability to lead analytic initiatives and partner effectively across departments.
β’ Knowledge of healthcare coding standards and payer data sources.
β’ Familiarity with advanced data architecture and collaboration with IT/data engineering teams.
β’ Exposure to statistical concepts and methodologies preferred.
