Job SummaryAn experienced Healthcare Data Scientist is needed to support advanced analytics and research initiatives within a large-scale healthcare business intelligence program. This role will leverage expertise in data science, statistics, and healthcare informatics to build data pipelines, develop models, and generate actionable insights that improve clinical, operational, and population health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze large-scale administrative and clinical datasets to identify trends, build predictive models, and drive actionable insights
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and workflows for healthcare reporting and research
Develop and deploy models using Python, R, or SAS
Write advanced SQL queries and work with large relational databases
Apply statistical methods and machine learning approaches to real-world healthcare data
Collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical teams to define analytic needs and translate them into technical solutions
Support data governance, privacy, and HIPAA compliance throughout the data lifecycle
Present results and recommendations to diverse stakeholders in a clear, data-driven manner
Qualifications
Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Computer Science, or related field
3+ years of hands-on experience analyzing healthcare data
Proficiency in Python, R, or SAS for modeling and analytics
Strong SQL skills with experience working in large-scale relational databases
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with social determinants of health, value-based care, or public health datasets
Prior experience in a health system, government agency, payer, or health technology environment
Knowledge of advanced machine learning and modeling techniques
