Day-to-Day
Insight Global is looking for a REMOTE 9-month contract Senior Business Analyst for a client in New Haven, CT for $40-$52. This role will play a pivotal role in driving research data modernization. This position is responsible for leading stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering across faculty, library, technology, and AI domains, as well as analyzing workflows and documenting system integrations. The analyst will develop business cases, project charters, and project plans, and will assess feasibility, risks, and resource needs for proposed solutions. Day-to-day, approximately 30% of time will be spent engaging stakeholders and gathering requirements, 25% on documentation and analysis, 20% coordinating project planning, 15% preparing reports and communicating with leadership, and 10% supporting governance and compliance. The role requires strong collaboration with project managers, technical teams, and subject matter experts to ensure alignment and timely delivery, while also preparing executive summaries and supporting data governance throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
β’ Lead requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement for research data initiatives.
β’ Analyze and document workflows, data sources, and system integrations.
β’ Develop business cases, project charters, and project plans. (with support from a PM)
β’ Identify and document functional and system requirements for AI-powered knowledge graph and related applications.
β’ Assess feasibility, risks, dependencies, and total cost of ownership for proposed solutions.
β’ Facilitate workshops and meetings to capture use cases and validate requirements.
β’ Collaborate with project managers, subject matter experts, and technical teams.
β’ Prepare executive summaries and stakeholder readouts.
β’ Support data governance (not so much of a data governance focus for the scope of this project), compliance, and documentation efforts. Maybe instead: Support governance and facilitate decision making process, understand compliance/regulatory requirements and support documentation efforts.
INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

1. How have you documented and analyzed complex workflows or data integrations in past projects?
1. What methods do you use to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into technical specifications?
1. Tell us about a time you developed a business case or project plan for a new technology initiative. What was your approach?
1. How do you assess feasibility, risks, and resource needs for a proposed solution?
1. What experience do you have facilitating workshops or meetings to capture use cases and validate requirements? What are some examples of your approach?
1. Can you share an example of how you supported data governance or compliance in a previous role? β this will not apply so much to the project, maybe more about general governance/getting stakeholders to reach a consensus
1. How do you communicate project status, risks, and findings to executive stakeholders?
1. What tools or techniques do you use for documenting functional and system requirements?
1. How do you prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines in a cross-functional project team?
