🔧 Role Overview
We're seeking a seasoned Interface Engineer to join our healthcare IT team supporting Nuance-Microsoft. This is a highly visible role for someone experienced in HL7 messaging, interface builds, and EMR integrations. You’ll lead configuration, testing, and deployment of critical interfaces in a high-impact environment, collaborating with clients and internal teams.
✅ Key Responsibilities
• Build, configure, and test HL7 interfaces (ADT, ORU, ORM, SIU)
• Lead troubleshooting of inbound/outbound messages, interface failures, and system issues
• Collaborate with QA, developers, and customer IT teams during integration lifecycles
• Install interfaces in test and production environments
• Write and execute SQL queries and perform data integrity validation
• Utilize Mirth, Corepoint, or similar interface engines
• Document workflows, configurations, and interface design
🧠 Required Skills
1. 3+ years of HL7 interface experience
1. Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Microsoft OS, security protocols
1. Experience with SQL Server, XML, and interface engines
1. Excellent communication and customer service skills
1. Comfortable with remote support, on-call availability, and post-Go Live troubleshooting
⭐ Preferred Skills
• Experience with Cerner Millennium, EPIC, or Allscripts
• Knowledge of TLS/mTLS
• Experience with PowerScribe, PACS, or Radiology workflows
• Scripting in XML, JavaScript, or CCL
• Understanding of FHIR and CDA/CCD standards
🔄 Preferred Work Hours
Pre-April: 8am–5pm
April–June: ~20% weekend/evening
July+: ~40% weekend/evening work expected
