Role description
Position: Information Scientist – AI Content Analytics
Location: Hybrid or Remote in UK
Client: Biotechnology
Type: 12 months contract - full-time
Main Responsibilities
• Design and implement AI-enabled workflows for literature mining, summarization, and trend analysis.
• Use natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and large language models to improve information retrieval and content classification.
• Support pharmaceutical R&D by organizing and structuring scientific data for effective reuse.
• Develop and maintain information systems that follow FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
• Explore and propose innovative AI solutions for analyzing and managing scientific content.
• Act as a subject matter expert for AI-driven content analytics and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure compliance with copyright, licensing, and data governance requirements.
• Maintain data quality, integrity, and auditability in AI-powered processes.
• Deliver training and guidance on AI/NLP tools and best practices for content analytics.
• Contribute to upskilling initiatives by developing guidelines and learning frameworks.
Main Requirements
• Background or strong interest in information science, data science, biomedical research, or a related field.
• Experience or enthusiasm for AI and NLP technologies, including large language models and prompt engineering.
• Working knowledge of Python or similar tools for text and data analysis.
• Familiarity with metadata, ontologies, knowledge graphs, or semantic technologies.
• Understanding of FAIR data principles and scientific data lifecycle concepts.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn and apply new technologies.
