Location: Slough/Remote (hybrid or remote working options available)
Duration: 12 months initial (temporary role)
Rate: up to £38.84 per hour (based on experience, INSIDE IR35)

Role Summary:
SRG is partnering with an innovative pharmaceutical organisation to recruit an Information Scientist who will play a key role in advancing AI‑enabled content analytics. In this position, you will apply NLP, machine learning, and information science methodologies to extract insights from biomedical literature, enhance R&D decision‑making, and optimise scientific workflows. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about AI, knowledge management, and the future of scientific information.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement AI‑driven workflows for literature mining, summarisation, and trend analysis.
• Maintain and develop external information endpoints aligned with FAIR data principles.
• Apply machine learning and LLMs to improve information retrieval and automate content classification.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and act as a subject matter expert for content analytics initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with copyright, licensing requirements, and data governance standards.
• Deliver training and develop best‑practice guidance for AI/NLP tools and content analytics.
Skills & Experience Required:
• Experience or strong interest in NLP, LLMs, and AI frameworks.
• Proficiency with Python and tools used for text analytics and data visualisation.
• Knowledge of ontologies, semantic technologies, metadata, or knowledge graph management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.
• Adaptability and enthusiasm for emerging digital and data‑driven technologies.
