IT / Data Business Analyst – Finance & Risk Technology – Investment Banking Overview: We’re working with a leading global investment bank looking to bring in a proactive IT/Data Business Analyst to join their growing Finance & Risk Technology function. This role is well-suited to someone with around 5 years of experience in a business analysis or systems/data-focused role within investment banking, ideally with exposure to Risk or Product Control. You’ll play a key part in supporting both BAU operations and change initiatives, collaborating across IT, Risk, and Finance teams to improve systems, processes, and reporting capabilities. Key Responsibilities: • Support core Finance and Risk systems and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of key data/reporting processes • Work with stakeholders to gather and document requirements, translate business needs into functional specs • Contribute to system enhancements, reporting improvements, and data/process automation • Collaborate on data analysis, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting updates • Support workshops, UAT planning, documentation, and cross-team collaboration Essential Skills & Experience: • 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst within investment banking or financial services • Exposure to Risk, Finance, or Product Control functions • Strong understanding of data flows, systems, and reporting within a banking context • Proficient with SQL and comfortable working with data; familiarity with tools like Power BI or Python is a plus • Confident communicator with experience working between business and tech teams • Comfortable balancing BAU support and project-based work Contract Details: • Day Rate: £550–£600 (Inside IR35 via umbrella) • Duration: 6 months • Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite (City of London) This is a fantastic opportunity for a mid-level BA to gain exposure in a well-regarded global bank and contribute to meaningful systems and data improvements within Finance and Risk.
