Role description
About Legal 500
Legal 500 was founded by John Pritchard in 1987 as the original clientsโ guide to law firms, the first of its kind. It is now a data-driven, AI-optimised research platform which benchmarks, informs and connects providers and users of legal services in over 100 countries worldwide.
Our research and data are trusted and relied upon by corporate clients globally as an essential part of the process, both of instructing law firms with new mandates, and when reviewing existing mandates or panels.
We exist to empower both buyers and sellers in the international legal marketplace to make better decisions and have improved outcomes for their organisations. This is achieved by leveraging a trusted, comprehensive research process with a unique, vast, proprietary and constantly updated set of client-supplied data, unrivalled in the market.
On the supply side of the legal market, every year Legal 500โs team of over 150 researchers, technologists, data analysts, journalists and content specialists collate and review 60,000+ data-submissions from law firms and conduct interviews with thousands of leading law firm partners. On the demand side, Legal 500 analyses confidential data from 300,000+ commercial law firm clients to benchmark law firms and lawyers by practice area; industry; jurisdiction; as well as by proprietary client satisfaction metrics, NPSยฎ, and other qualitative and quantitative criteria.
Legal 500 is the only source of this depth of global research and data on law firms, lawyers and their clients.
Job Purpose
We are seeking an interim HRIS & People Data Lead to lead the end-to-end process of scoping, selecting, and implementing a new HRIS for a 250-person organisation.
The role will begin with requirements gathering across the organisation, ensuring the system design reflects business needs, and will also establish an initial suite of high-quality people data and reporting for our Directors.
This is a hands-on delivery role, blending HR tech implementation with people analytics and insight.
Core project responsibilities:
โข Discovery, requirements gathering and building functionality requirements
โข HRIS selection & implementation
โข People data & reporting
โข Handover & sustainability
Our ideal Interim HRIS & People Data Lead:
โข Proven experience with HRIS roll-out(s) at 100โ500 headcount scale, preferably within in a PE/VC-backed, high-change environment.
โข We're open-minded which HRIS we will implement, but we know 100% for sure that it will NOT be a massive enterprise solution such as Workday or Oracle, therefore experience implementing a mid-market system such as HiBob, Personio, Cezanne, BambooHR etc. is essential
โข A strong understanding of People-related Business Process understanding, whilst support from our People Operations team will be there, it's key that you can demonstrate the understanding and experience of scoping and implementing systems that meet business needs - i.e. a 'one size fits all' approach won't work here
โข Experience with change management, being comfortable with stakeholder engagement, communications and adoption - we are replacing a very much unloved HRIS which has incredibly poor internal PR
โข We need this person to own the full end-to-end, including the data cleansing and upload
โข Data and reporting is key for this role, we're looking for evidence you've delivered a dashboard or board pack aimed at executive level and that you're comfortable translating raw HR metrics into insights
Other information:
โข We are open to either a day rate (outside IR35) or FTC engangement
โข We are expecting our Consultant to be working onsite in London (Fleet Street) 3 days per week (2 days remote)
โข We ideally are looking for someone to start on 27th October 2025
โข We have an anticipated timescale of 4 months for this piece of work
