Inventory & Asset Manager β Network Equipment (Onsite, Rockville, MD)
TDI is hiring for an Inventory & Asset Manager to support technology operations within a complex enterprise environment. This role requires a mix of onsite work and telework, with regular in-person presence at Montgomery County locations.

Position Overview
The Inventory & Asset Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of network hardware assetsβincluding switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, phones, PDUs, UPS units, and cablingβto ensure accurate tracking, availability, accountability, and compliance. Responsibilities include receiving, tagging, tracking, deploying, auditing, decommissioning, and dispositioning assets in accordance with operational and security standards.
The role requires collaboration with engineering, operations, procurement, and finance teams. You will also manage inventory workflows, dashboards, and automation within Monday.com to support a highly structured asset management program.
Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & Asset Lifecycle Management
Manage end-to-end lifecycle of network infrastructure equipment: receiving, tagging, staging, deploying, decommissioning, and disposal.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date asset data including serial numbers, configurations, locations, and lifecycle status.
Conduct routine physical audits, reconciliations, and data integrity checks.
Generate reports on inventory levels, asset value, utilization, lifecycle trends, upcoming replacements, and stock forecasts.
Workflow, Platform, and Reporting Management
Build and maintain Monday.com boards, dashboards, workflows, and automation supporting asset management.
Create templates and status trackers for procurement, RMA processes, warranty tracking, and maintenance schedules.
Integrate Monday.com with ERP, ServiceNow, CMDB, or procurement systems to streamline data flow.
Produce visualizations and analytics on inventory utilization and upcoming procurement needs.
Operational Execution & Collaboration
Partner with Network Engineering and IT Operations to anticipate equipment needs and support infrastructure expansion.
Coordinate with Procurement and Finance on vendor orders, shipping, receiving, invoicing, and asset disposal.
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, asset management, and audit requirements.
Develop SOPs, documentation, and training for inventory management processes. β Provide support during internal and external audits.
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of hands-on experience managing IT/network hardware inventory and asset lifecycle processes.
Experience using Monday.com, ServiceNow, or similar asset/workflow platforms.
Strong technical understanding of network devices (routers, switches, APs, firewalls, UPS, PDU, cabling, etc.).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
Strong technical writing and documentation skills (SOPs, training materials, process documentation).
Ability to analyze data, create reports, and present weekly updates.
Excellent organizational, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
Additional Information
This position requires in-person interviews in Rockville, MD.
Background investigation and verification of credentials may be required.
Expected engagement: ~1 year (1,300 hours) with potential extension.
