Role description
OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Clerk to join our supply chain and warehouse management team. This role is essential in maintaining accurate inventory levels, optimizing stock management processes, and supporting overall logistics operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong data analysis skills, experience with warehouse management systems, and a solid understanding of supply chain principles. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to process improvements and enhance operational efficiency within a dynamic distribution environment. Duties Monitor and manage inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as AS400 and SAP. Conduct regular stock audits, cycle counts, and root cause analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Utilize data mining, data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau, and analytics to forecast demand, optimize stocking strategies, and support demand planning initiatives. Collaborate with procurement teams on sourcing, supplier management, negotiations, and contract management to ensure timely replenishment of materials. Support logistics functions including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, materials handling, and coordination with 3PL providers. Analyze inventory data for process improvement opportunities, cost reduction strategies, and category management. Assist in financial modeling related to inventory valuation, pricing strategies, and supply chain analytics. Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, supplier contracts, and inventory transactions while ensuring compliance with company policies. Perform heavy lifting when necessary for materials handling or stock movement within the warehouse environment. Support production planning efforts by providing accurate inventory data to facilitate efficient manufacturing workflows. Experience Proven experience in warehouse distribution, inventory management, or supply chain operations. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400 or SAP, and data analytics tools including Power BI or Tableau. Strong understanding of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier relationship management. Experience with demand planning, stock control techniques, and supply chain analytics. Proficiency in SQL or other data collection/query languages is preferred. Knowledge of logistics operations including shipping & receiving, materials handling, and order fulfillment. Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements effectively. Prior experience with financial analysis related to inventory valuation or pricing strategies is a plus. Warehouse experience involving heavy lifting or materials handling is advantageous but not mandatory.
