Job Title: Senior IT Support EngineerLocation: New York City, NY (100% Onsite)Job Type: 12-Month ContractPay Rate: $35 - $40/hr Job Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Senior IT Support Engineer to join our team in NYC. This is a fully onsite, 12-month contract role supporting enterprise infrastructure across servers, storage, networking, and virtualization platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, hands-on troubleshooting experience, and the ability to support critical systems in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Administer and support Windows Server and Desktop operating systems, including user administration, file systems, software, and services Manage Active Directory environments, including domain setup, GPO configuration, backup, and recovery Perform disaster recovery planning, backup, and restore for systems, applications, and data Install and manage patches and firmware updates Monitor system health and performance; provide reports and identify bottlenecks to support optimization efforts Troubleshoot fundamental networking issues (DHCP, DNS, routing, firewall) Support server and storage environments, including RAID configurations Perform darksite patching of Nutanix Hypervisor and related components (and other hypervisors) Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell, Bash, KSH, or Perl) to automate routine tasks Provide hands-on end-user support and technical troubleshooting Produce clear technical documentation for solutions and system design Provide off-hours and on-call support; travel to various company sites as needed Required Qualifications (Must Have): Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Information Technology) Minimum 8 years of IT Support experience Strong experience with Windows Server/Desktop administration Active Directory management experience (domain, GPO, backup/recovery) Understanding of servers and storage systems including RAID configurations Knowledge of fundamental networking concepts (DHCP, DNS, routing, firewall) Understanding of security principles (ACLs, encryption) Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, KSH, or Perl) Experience monitoring system health and performance Disaster recovery, backup, and restore experience Experience with patch and firmware installation/management Knowledge of darksite patching for Nutanix Hypervisor and other hypervisors Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to lift and transport server equipment Willingness to work overtime, flexible hours, and provide on-call support Ability and means to travel to various company locations Job Type: Contract Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Application Question(s): Do you have 8+ years of IT Support experience along with a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Information Technology)? Do you have scripting experience in PowerShell, Bash, KSH, or Perl, and hands-on experience with Darksite patching of Nutanix Hypervisor and its components, as well as other hypervisors?
