Position: IT- Sr. Data Engineer Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire / Remote Duration: 8 Month Contract With Possible Extension Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, cloud database technologies, and cloud platforms. This role involves working as part of an Agile team practicing Scrum, participating in daily stand-ups, and collaborating on a variety of tasks, including planned and unplanned work. Communication and teamwork are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities: • Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models. • Manage and optimize relational databases such as AWS RDS Oracle and RDS Postgres, as well as NoSQL databases like MongoDB and DocumentDB. • Utilize cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, for data services such as AWS S3, AWS DMS, Glue, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage. • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and security best practices, including GDPR and HIPAA. • Design and implement data integration solutions using APIs and messaging systems. • Develop and maintain scripts and programs using SQL, Python, and similar languages. • Leverage containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and manage CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation. • Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and optimize data flows. • Maintain data quality, validation, and error handling processes. • Oversee ETL/ELT processes and tools for data extraction, transformation, and loading. • Work with large-scale, complex data sets and distributed systems. • Contribute to Guidewire implementations as needed. Qualifications: • Proficiency in data modeling techniques (conceptual, logical, and physical). • Extensive experience with relational and NoSQL databases. • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and their data services. • Expertise in data governance, security, and compliance standards. • Experience with APIs, data integration, and messaging systems. • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and related programming languages. • Experience with containerization tools and DevOps practices. • Strong troubleshooting and optimization skills for data pipelines. • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and tools. • Ability to work with complex data sets and distributed systems. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and participating in team ceremonies. • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
