Genesis10 is currently seeking an IT TEM (Telecom Expense Management) Analyst for a Remote position with a Major Utility Company located in Akron, OH. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
Pay Range: $50.00 - $60.00
We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented IT TEM (Telecom Expense Management) Analyst to join an IT Network Planning team. You will be responsible for working with a TEM provider on end-to-end telecom financial management, including invoice auditing, inventory tracking, budget forecasting, and vendor expense analysis. You will leverage your expertise in data analysis to identify and eliminate billing inefficiencies, identify cost-saving opportunities, and streamline telecom wireline operations.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Leased Circuit Strategy Initiative to further reduce the annual O&M wireline spend by analyzing inventory to find opportunities for disconnect, migration to other solutions, or contractual reductions in monthly spend
• Review wireline/network diagrams and collaborate with IT Network Specialists to validate circuit usage or other technological alternatives
• Work with TEM provider to perform detailed reviews of telecom wireline invoices to help identify billing inaccuracies, overcharges, and unused services
• Develop and maintain budget tracking, forecasting, and variance reporting processes
• Support month-end activities including chargeback processing and vendor accruals
• Work with TEM provider to review telecom contracts and compare funding against actual spend
• Liaise with TEM provider, carriers and vendors to investigate discrepancies, dispute charges, and negotiate better rates
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date telecom inventory tracking (circuits and lines) ensuring alignment between internal systems and carrier databases
• Generate and update reports to communicate spending trends, KPIs, and cost-saving recommendations to leadership
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to streamline telecom expense workflows and operational efficiency
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field OR 5+ Years of experience with TEM in lieu of a degree
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in Telecom Expense Management, IT financial analysis, or telecommunications operations
• High-level proficiency in data manipulation and reporting tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, or Power BI
• Familiarity with TEM software platforms (e.g., Tangoe, TEOCO, Sakon)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to translate complex telecom data into simple terms for cross-functional teams like Finance and Procurement
Desired skills:
• Experience within the telecom industry, specifically dealing with carrier billing and tariff structures
• Understanding of network wiring diagrams
• Advanced data analytics proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas) and experience utilizing data visualization or Business Intelligence tools
