ITSM Business Analyst – CMDB, Asset & Service Data (Contract, Fully Remote) Day rate: £450/day Location: Fully remote (UK working hours) Start: ASAP The brief We’re also hiring an ITSM BA focused on CMDB and service data. You’ll shape CI models, data standards, and integrations that make incident, change, and risk decisions faster and more reliable. What you’ll do Define CI classes/object types, key attributes, relationships aligned to service models. Set data quality rules (completeness, accuracy, timeliness), naming standards, lifecycle states. Map data sources/flows; support migration from legacy sources into a target CMDB. Work with discovery/inventory tools (e.g., ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM/Intune, Tanium, JAMF, Lansweeper). Link CIs to services/SLAs/changes/incidents; document dependency maps. Define integration/API requirements, normalisation/reconciliation rules. Establish controls, dashboards, KPIs for CMDB health; support UAT and early-life validation. Produce artefacts: data dictionaries, ERDs, service maps, runbooks. What you’ll bring Strong BA background specifically on CMDB/Asset and service data at enterprise scale. Practical experience designing CI models and implementing data quality/normalisation. Familiarity with ServiceNow or Jira Service Management CMDB/Assets (either/both). Ability to translate technical discovery into business-meaningful service maps. Excellent documentation and stakeholder engagement across platform, infra, and service teams. Nice to have: service mapping, risk/compliance reporting, change risk models, data migration playbooks.
