β’ This is a hybrid position. Interested candidates must be comfortable working onsite in Reston, VA once per week for sprint and PI planning sessions. Therefore, candidates must reside a commutable distance to Reston, VA.
Overview & Responsibilities:
Work with a leading health insurance provider to help their development team execute a critical, high-priority cloud migration project. This is a hands-on developer role focused on moving entire product lines from legacy systems, including mainframes, to the AWS cloud environment. You will be a core part of a fast-paced Agile "swarm team" and will be instrumental in migrating all facets of the application, from the front end to the back end, and ensuring security at every step. β’ Serve as a hands-on developer to execute the migration of applications and products to AWS cloud.
β’ Develop and customize code to facilitate the transition from legacy systems to a cloud-native architecture.
β’ Work collaboratively within a swarm team to handle both front-end and back-end migration tasks.
β’ Ensure proper security protocols and authentication are implemented across the entire application stack during migration.
β’ Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including sprint planning and development.
Required Qualifications:
β’ At least 10 years of experience as a developer.
β’ Extensive experience with web services and a deep understanding of Cloud/AWS.
β’ Proven experience working with front-end applications using Java, J2EE, Angular, and Bootstrap.
β’ Solid Java development experience with the ability to create unit and integration test cases using Junit/TestNG.
β’ Experience working with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
β’ Strong experience in continuous integration within a DevOps environment.
β’ Experience working with API Management Tools and GIT/BitBucket.
β’ Must be local to the DMV area (D.C., Maryland, Virginia).
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Experience with cloud migration at an enterprise level.
β’ Familiarity with migrating from legacy systems such as mainframe databases and MQ.
β’ Knowledge of MongoDB.
β’ Experience with Java 21 and Angular 17.
β’ Experience with microservices.
