Responsibilities Kforce has a client in Salt Lake City,. UT that is seeking a Java Swing Developer. Summary: We are seeking a skilled Java Developer with strong experience in Java Swing, Oracle and JavaFX to support the development and enhancement of desktop-based software applications. This role will involve designing and implementing user interfaces, integrating back-end logic, and ensuring responsive, user-friendly application performance. Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain desktop application interfaces using Java Swing and/or JavaFX • Enhance existing legacy Swing UIs and assist with migration to JavaFX • Collaborate with backend developers and UI/UX designers to translate requirements into functional interfaces • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance • Integrate APIs, services, or databases as required • Write and maintain clear, scalable, and efficient code • Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions Requirements • 3-5+ years of professional Java development experience • Strong hands-on experience with Java Swing and JavaFX • Understanding of event-driven programming and multithreading in GUI applications • Experience building reusable UI components and custom controls • Familiarity with RESTful API integration, JDBC, or ORM tools • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field • Experience modernizing legacy desktop applications • Exposure to build tools (Maven/Gradle) and version control (Git) • Knowledge of accessibility and internationalization (i18n) • Familiarity with Java 8+ features (e.g., lambda expressions, streams) The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.
