Role description
Job Description: Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mid-Skill Java Developer to join the Foundry Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Java development, experience with Gradle, and proficiency in working with either IntelliJ or Eclipse. This role primarily focuses on enhancing existing Java codebases by creating new classes that implement established interfaces. Additionally, the candidate should understand the complex business login in energy and utility space and expert in handling complex scenarios for a give problem statement. Candidate should exhibit a willingness to learn and apply basic Palantir Foundry concepts for effective testing.. Experience in handling near time data stream processing is must. Experience with Flink or Kafka will be considered as big plus. Key Responsibilities: • Candidate must play Tech Lead role and should able to handle large Java code base independently. • Collaborate with the development team to enhance and extend existing Java codebases. • Create new classes that implement existing interfaces, ensuring code quality and adherence to coding standards. • Identify and address edge cases and corner scenarios in complex systems, enhancing system reliability and stability. • Continuously learn and apply basic Foundry principles to support efficient testing and validation of Java code. • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and actively seeking feedback for self-improvement. • Should have exposure in building UDFs in Java. Qualifications: • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Java development. • Strong proficiency in Java programming with a focus on enhancing existing code. • Experience with build automation tools, particularly Gradle. • Proficiency in using either IntelliJ or Eclipse as integrated development environments. • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen ability to handle edge cases and corner scenarios in complex systems. • Willingness to learn and apply basic Foundry concepts for effective testing. • Experience with stream processing technologies such as Flink or Kafka is a plus. • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Substantial hands-on experience and a proven track record in Java development are equally valued.
