Role description
Analytics Engineering Manager 6-Month Contract New York, NY (Hybrid) We are seeking an Analytics Engineering Manager to lead a 5-person contract team augmenting the Product Analytics & Experimentation organization at a Fortune Broadcast Media & Entertainment organization. This is a 50/50 role (half hands-on analytics engineering, half team lead). You will oversee two 2-person agile pods embedding into product workstreams one at a time, building three foundational tools (a Databricks Metrics View, a Workstream Scorecard, and an AI Analytics Agent) to a defined done bar before rotating to the next workstream. You will report to the VP of Product Analytics, partner closely with Data Engineering, and influence Product, Engineering, and Design stakeholders across each workstream. Minimum Qualifications: β€’ 7+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or technical product analytics. β€’ Prior experience leading a small agile team or pod in a project-based delivery model. β€’ Hands-on experience with Databricks and Unity Catalog; advanced SQL and data modeling. β€’ Experience with metrics-as-code tooling (e.g., dbt, Cube, MetricFlow) and CI/CD for data (e.g., GitHub Actions, Databricks Asset Bundles). β€’ Hands-on experience with LLM evaluation and agent benchmarking β€” including RAG patterns, eval sets, regression tests, and prompt/instruction design. β€’ Demonstrated experience designing metric trees and driver trees that connect business goals to KPIs. β€’ Strong executive communication skills; comfortable presenting to VP- and CPO-level audiences. β€’ Experimentation / A/B testing infrastructure exposure is a plus. β€’ Background in streaming, media, or consumer subscription is a plus. Responsibilities: β€’ Lead a 5-person contract team (1 TAM + 4 Senior Product Analysts) operating as two 2-person agile pods; own pod delivery and rotation across workstreams with clear per-workstream entry and exit criteria. β€’ Lead the build of a Databricks Metrics View on Unity Catalog as the canonical metrics layer, including governance, lineage, access, and metrics-as-code review. β€’ Lead the build of a Workstream Scorecard framework, connecting goals, drivers, and KPIs in a single place with daily/weekly refresh. β€’ Lead the build of an AI Analytics Agent β€” including requirements, benchmarks, instructions, eval framework, and dev/prod environments with CI/CD. β€’ Partner with Data Engineering on raw data, event tagging, and schema gaps; own the DE intake process across all three tools. β€’ Influence Product, Engineering, and Design stakeholders within each workstream; drive alignment on KPI definitions, adoption, and decision-making cadence. β€’ Act as the technical escalation point for both pods; unblock delivery, set the engineering bar, and hold the team accountable to milestones. β€’ Translate OKRs and workstream business requirements into metric trees, scorecard definitions, and agent benchmark sets. β€’ Report status, risks, and decisions to VP- and CPO-level stakeholders; communicate progress to internal analytics leads on a regular cadence. What’s in it for you? β€’ High-visibility leadership role embedded within a Fortune Broadcast Media & Entertainment organization's Product Analytics & Experimentation team, reporting directly to the VP of Product Analytics. β€’ Rare opportunity to build three foundational analytics tools β€” a metrics layer, a scorecard framework, and an AI agent β€” from the ground up within a world-class streaming platform. β€’ Lead a talented 5-person contract team in an agile, pod-based delivery model with real ownership over outcomes. β€’ Collaborative, technically ambitious environment at the intersection of analytics engineering, AI, and product strategy. EEO Statement: β€’ Eight Eleven Group provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, citizenship, disability, genetic information, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, amnesty or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
