What you’ll do: Billigence are looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our team on an initial 3-month contract, outside IR35. • Recommend a scalable, high-performing implementation architecture aligned to clients' needs, considering all key requirements and constraints. • Define and document the migration design. • Lead design thinking workshops and technical decision-making. • Collaborate closely with the data engineering team and the client team to ensure design alignment and high-quality implementation. • Consider and implement a templated approach, reusable pipelines, and core integration patterns in Matillion/Snowflake. • Oversee code quality, documentation, and promote best practices, and ensure high standards are used. • Actively engage in hands-on development alongside Data Engineers, directly contributing to coding, troubleshooting, and delivering solutions. • Supporting the definition of test approach. What you'll need: • Proven hands-on experience with Snowflake is essential, including performance tuning, architecture design, and data integration. • Experience with Matillion is highly preferred; familiarity with developing reusable pipelines and integration patterns in Matillion is a strong advantage. • Ability to define and document migration design, lead design thinking workshops, and make informed technical decisions. • Experience working collaboratively with both client teams and internal data engineering teams to ensure alignment and high-quality delivery.
