We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Data Scientist to join our team on a 1-year contract basis and help us drive our data strategy forward.
The Role:
As the Lead Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in leading data science initiatives across the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions that impact key business decisions. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data visualization in a strategic leadership capacity while mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct and oversee complex data science projects that align with business goals.
• Design, develop, and optimize advanced machine learning algorithms (e.g., deep learning, neural networks, ensemble methods).
• Create compelling visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, and custom Python libraries (Matplotlib, Seaborn) to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, fostering their growth and ensuring their work aligns with the organization's data strategy.
• Work with engineers, business analysts, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on business needs and data science solutions.
• Design and analyze A/B tests to validate changes and improvements.
• Ensure data privacy and compliance with regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection laws.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience: 10-15 years in data science, with a proven track record of leading successful data initiatives and solving complex business problems.
• Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with machine learning algorithms, predictive modeling, and data manipulation using Python or R. Familiarity with tools like Hadoop, Spark, and cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus.
• Statistical and Analytical Skills: Deep understanding of statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.
• Data Visualization: Proficiency in Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries (Matplotlib, Seaborn).
• Leadership: Proven ability to mentor and lead teams, and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Education: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Big Data & Cloud Technologies: Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing frameworks.
Why You Should Apply:
• Lead high-impact data science initiatives that will shape business decisions across the organization.
• Develop and grow a team of talented data scientists and help them reach their full potential.
• A one-year contract role that offers competitive compensation with potential for extension based on performance.
• Work in a collaborative, forward-thinking company that values innovation and continuous learning.
