Lead Database Engineer – Informatica (PowerCenter & IDMC)

Job Title: Lead Database Engineer – Informatica (PowerCenter & IDMC) Location: Frederick, MD (Hybrid) Duration: 18 Month Contract Overview We are seeking a Lead Database Engineer with deep expertise in Informatica technologies to support enterprise data integration and modernization initiatives. This role will play a key part in transforming legacy Informatica PowerCenter environments into a modern Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform, while ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability across enterprise systems. The ideal candidate brings 7–10 years of Informatica experience in a lead capacity, along with a strong background in data engineering, infrastructure, and large-scale platform consolidation. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design, development, and support of Informatica PowerCenter and MDM (Master Data Management) solutions • Drive modernization initiatives, including migration from on-premise PowerCenter to Informatica IDMC • Execute the consolidation of multiple Informatica PowerCenter instances into a unified IDMC platform • Architect and support enterprise-scale data integration infrastructure • Collaborate with data, application, and infrastructure teams to align integration strategies with business objectives • Ensure high availability, performance optimization, and scalability of data platforms • Lead troubleshooting efforts, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex data and integration issues • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best practices for development teams • Develop and maintain documentation for data architecture, workflows, and processes Required Qualifications • 7–10 years of hands-on experience with Informatica, including leadership or lead-level responsibilities • Strong expertise in: • Informatica PowerCenter • Informatica MDM • Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) • Proven experience leading platform modernization and migration initiatives • Experience consolidating multiple data integration platforms into a single enterprise solution • Strong background in database engineering and data integration architecture • Experience supporting enterprise-scale, high-availability environments • Ability to lead technical teams and drive project execution Preferred Qualifications • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) • Strong SQL and data modeling skills • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation in data engineering workflows • Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks • Background in infrastructure engineering or platform architecture Key Competencies • Leadership and technical ownership • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Excellent communication and stakeholder management • Ability to manage multiple priorities in complex enterprise environments • Strategic mindset with a focus on modernization and efficiency
