The ideal candidate will have expertise in front-end and back-end development, enterprise systems engineering, and microservice architecture. The position operates in a hybrid work environment, with one day a week on-site at Willis Tower in Chicago, Illinois. Responsibilities: • Develop web applications and sites that engage and retain visitors. • Bridge the gap between design and implementation, providing web solutions involving collaboration portals, enterprise search, mobile functionality, and interactive forms. • Work in an Agile/Scrum delivery model to ensure timely and quality outcomes. • Provide guidance on industry best practices, guidelines, and governance for web applications and websites. • Manage requirements for cross-browser compatibility and page optimization. • Develop applications and sites to include social media and mobile functionality. • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure the end product meets quality standards. • Perform benefit analysis for IT solutions and recommend technology directions. • Stay updated on the latest technologies and innovations in web application development. • Supervise and direct staff as assigned, including participation in recruiting and performance reviews. Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent. • Mastery of modern web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and JS frameworks (e.g., jQuery, Ember.js, Angular.js). • Experience with responsive web design, fluid layouts, and mobile interfaces. • Knowledge of SEO concepts and coding for Search Engine Optimization. • Expertise in REST APIs, AJAX, XML, XSD, XSL, XPATH, and Template Engines. • Proficiency in MVC Frameworks and creating CSS3 animations. • Experience with source control systems like Git, SVN, or TFS. • Advanced skills in object-oriented coding and scripting languages such as Java, .NET/C#, PHP, and Ruby. • Relational database modeling and advanced SQL query/procedure creation. • Ability to set up and configure hosting environments with IIS and Apache. • Nice-to-have skills or certifications: AWS or React Certifications, B.S. in Computer Science, M.S. in Software Architecture.
