LEAD React Developer
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Developer III to join our team for a project focused on United.com. The ideal candidate will have expertise in front-end and back-end development, enterprise systems engineering, and microservice architecture. This role requires a strong understanding of modern web technologies, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility. The position operates in a hybrid work environment, with one day a week on-site at Willis Tower in Chicago, Illinois.
Responsibilities:
β’ Develop web applications and sites that engage and retain visitors.
β’ Bridge the gap between design and implementation, providing web solutions involving collaboration portals, enterprise search, mobile functionality, and interactive forms.
β’ Work in an Agile/Scrum delivery model to ensure timely and quality outcomes.
β’ Provide guidance on industry best practices, guidelines, and governance for web applications and websites.
β’ Manage requirements for cross-browser compatibility and page optimization.
β’ Develop applications and sites to include social media and mobile functionality.
β’ Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure the end product meets quality standards.
β’ Perform benefit analysis for IT solutions and recommend technology directions.
β’ Stay updated on the latest technologies and innovations in web application development.
β’ Supervise and direct staff as assigned, including participation in recruiting and performance reviews.
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
β’ Mastery of modern web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and JS frameworks (e.g., jQuery, Ember.js, Angular.js).
β’ Experience with responsive web design, fluid layouts, and mobile interfaces.
β’ Knowledge of SEO concepts and coding for Search Engine Optimization.
β’ Expertise in REST APIs, AJAX, XML, XSD, XSL, XPATH, and Template Engines.
β’ Proficiency in MVC Frameworks and creating CSS3 animations.
β’ Experience with source control systems like Git, SVN, or TFS.
β’ Advanced skills in object-oriented coding and scripting languages such as Java, .NET/C#, PHP, and Ruby.
β’ Relational database modeling and advanced SQL query/procedure creation.
β’ Ability to set up and configure hosting environments with IIS and Apache.
β’ Nice-to-have skills or certifications: AWS or React Certifications, B.S. in Computer Science, M.S. in Software Architecture.
