Job Title: Lead DevOps Engineer
Location: McLean, VA or Richmond, VA (Hybrid β 2β3 days onsite, MonβThu; Fridays remote)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Pay Rate: $65-75/hr W2 ONLY, NO C2C
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer with strong experience in software development, testing automation, and continuous delivery pipelines to support observability, reliability, and performance engineering initiatives. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with DevOps and SRE experience and hands-on expertise in modern cloud technologies, particularly within AWS.
Responsibilities:
β’ Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation for application delivery.
β’ Develop and maintain robust testing frameworks using Playwright, BDD, and TDD.
β’ Drive performance testing initiatives using tools like JMeter and LoadRunner.
β’ Work closely with SRE and development teams to implement observability and reliability practices.
β’ Integrate and maintain observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, New Relic, and Splunk.
β’ Improve application monitoring, alerting, and incident response strategies.
β’ Build and deploy solutions on AWS with Python and Java as core languages.
Required Skills and Technologies:

β’ Cloud: AWS
β’ Testing & Automation: Playwright, BDD, TDD, JMeter, LoadRunner
β’ Observability Tools: OpenTelemetry, New Relic, Splunk

β’ Strong background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and performance engineering
β’ Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
