Role description
$150,000-$175,000/hr. Remote, Contract. Overview This is a remote, contract role. Applicants must be able to collaborate as part of a team on Pacific time. Join a B2B startup in the media/entertainment industry space! We're looking for a key member of our team. As Lead Django Engineer, you will work directly with the CTO on our flagship product and be featured in investor decks and presentations. The candidate should be prepared to take ownership of mission-critical architecture and improve scalability while enhancing security. Required • Extensive experience with Django • Experience with multi-tenant applications, django-tenants package preferred • Supabase • Postgres: JSONB, schema isolation, query optimization, RDS on AWS • AWS: Fargate, S3 pre-signed URLs, SQS, CloudWatch, Cloudflare, IAM least-privilege, Wasabi • Celery and Redis/SQS for asynchronous task queues with job isolation • Javascript/Typescript • Ability to architect in a high-performance environment • Experience in solving Django networking issues • Knowledge of security best practices Preferred • Google Colab • Startup Experience • Media industry experience • Video processing/streaming experience • ffmpeg • GDPR/CCPA compliance-aware data modeling • Trusted Partner Network (TPN)/MPAA knowledge
