Role description
Position Title: Lead SAS Engineer Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite) Duration: 12 Months Job Overview We are seeking a Lead SAS Engineer to support the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) technology platform. The role will focus on developing and maintaining SAS-based analytical and data processing solutions used for financial crime detection, regulatory compliance, and risk monitoring. The candidate will work closely with product owners, engineering teams, and compliance stakeholders to deliver scalable SAS-based solutions. Top Required Skills • Strong SAS programming experience (Base SAS, SAS Macros, SAS SQL) • Experience in data analysis, data mining, and ETL processing • Strong SQL and relational database knowledge • Experience with data visualization tools (SAS Visual Analytics / Tableau) • Experience working in Banking or Financial Services environments Key Responsibilities • Lead development, testing, and deployment of SAS-based analytical solutions • Build scalable SAS programs for AML monitoring and financial data analysis • Integrate SAS solutions with enterprise data platforms and banking systems • Partner with product owners to refine technical requirements in Agile teams • Automate manual reporting and analytical processes • Provide production support and monitoring for deployed applications • Mentor junior engineers and guide technical design decisions • Ensure compliance with banking security and regulatory standards Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field • 4–8 years of software engineering experience • Strong hands-on expertise in SAS programming and analytics • Experience working with large financial datasets • Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL Preferred Skills • AML / Financial Crime / Risk analytics experience • Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins (CI/CD pipelines) • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) • Experience working in Agile environments • Strong stakeholder communication skills
