REMOTE Title: Looker Developer Duration: 3-6 Month contract + extensions Interview process: 1 round video, offer (starting 6/27) Notes from the hiring manager: Seeking Looker (3-5 years of experience) Looker Studio Strong SQL GCP is nice to have BigQuery is helpful, not required Current team is 5 FTE Data Engineers and 3 Contract Data Engineers – 9 Looker Developers in total right now Possible 3 openings – Rolling out looker studio currently / we are onboarding a lot of business teams and someone who can help onboard the users and be a liaison between the Looker team and the business Top Skillset: High need for strong soft skills / collaborative Responsibilities • 3–5+ years of experience with Looker (LookML), including developing views, explores, dashboards, and managing model files • Proficiency in LookML, with expertise in building scalable data models, PDTs, and user-defined measures/dimensions • Hands-on experience with Looker Studio for designing visually impactful, user-friendly dashboards using custom connectors and calculated fields • Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex queries across cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.) • Experience translating business requirements into semantic layers and reusable components in both Looker and Looker Studio • Knowledge of data modeling best practices, including star/snowflake schema design and normalization/denormalization strategies • Understanding of Looker permissions and security, including row-level security, user attributes, and group-based access • Version control experience using Git to manage Looker projects, with familiarity in branching, merging, and resolving conflicts • Performance tuning expertise for dashboards and queries, using Looker’s development tools and warehouse optimization techniques • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with a proven ability to work with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders
