Job Requirements
We are seeking an experienced LookML & SQL Looker Developer/Lead to design, develop, and creation of dashboard. The ideal candidate should have expertise in building and enhancing a looker dashboard and models. Writing efficient SQL queries, performance tuning in SQL.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Using LookML, update existing Looker data models (views and explores) to adapt to new business concepts and demand for new data elements (dimensions and measures)
β’ Data model designs and enhancements
β’ Coding of Persistent Derived Tables & Derived Tables
β’ Building models, views, explores and dashboards using LookML and SQL, dashboard development using SQL, LookML and Liquid Parameters
β’ Write complex SQL to query database tables, Redshift syntax familiarity preferred
β’ Analyze and improve dashboard performance, query optimization, and indexing strategies
β’ Structured Github code review with style validation and performance testing
β’ Documentation to support new dashboard content or modifications
β’ Management skills, team handling
Role and Responsibilities
β’ Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and growth. Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and facilitate career development.
β’ Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering teams, DBT, and QA to align on project goals, system integrations, and operational excellence. As an owner of a critical infrastructure service, creating a trustworthy relationship and managing system changes well are keys for success.
β’ Customer Support - Post-migration support with troubleshooting, debugging, and guidance on best practices.
β’ Implementation - Assist in implementation tasks such as writing models, staging layers, and refactoring logic.
β’ Quality & Performance: Run dbt builds and ensure data quality for customer pipelines. Help clean up and refactor legacy code to align with dbt and modular modelling principle
β’ Risk Management: Identify potential risks in projects and technical decisions, proposing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
