Role description
Role Summary
We are seeking an M365 Solutions Architect to design and support collaboration and workflow solutions built on Microsoft 365 for a large federal customer. This role will work closely with the lead architect and development team to translate business needs into secure, governed, and scalable M365 solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and refine information architecture, site structures, and collaboration patterns in SharePoint Online and Teams.
Support the design of Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) aligned with governance, DLP, and environment strategy defined by the lead architect.
Create solution designs, sequence diagrams, and integration specifications for M365-based applications.
Work with developers to ensure designs are implemented correctly and meet performance/security requirements.
Assist in defining site provisioning, lifecycle management, and automation for SharePoint Online and Teams.
Contribute to SOPs, runbooks, and reference documentation for M365 solutions.
Participate in design reviews, backlog grooming, and sprint planning to ensure architectural consistency.
Required Qualifications
Location: Remote (U.S. only)
Clearance: U.S. Citizen; must be able to obtain and maintain IRS Public Trust / MBI
7+ years of IT experience, with 4+ years focused on Microsoft 365 solution design and implementation.
Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online, Teams, and at least one of: Power Apps, Power Automate, or Power BI.
Strong understanding of M365 governance concepts, including permissions, information architecture, and data protection.
Experience producing design documentation (diagrams, specs, decision records).
Ability to collaborate closely with developers, engineers, and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting enterprise or public-sector M365 environments.
Familiarity with AvePoint, Microsoft Purview, and M365 compliance features.
Experience with SPFx, PnP, or other M365 customization frameworks.
Relevant Microsoft 365 or Power Platform certifications.
