Manual QA Contractor - Inside IR35 - 6 Months

We are seeking an experienced Manual QA Contractor to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop application testing, with hands-on experience validating APIs and UI workflows. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of a complex, multi-layered product used in real-world environments. Key Responsibilities: • Plan, execute, and document manual test cases for desktop applications • Perform API-level validation using tools like Postman or REST clients • Validate UI behaviour, user flows, layout, and edge cases • Log, track, and verify bugs through resolution using bug tracking systems (Azure DevOps) • Collaborate with developers, BAs, and other testers to ensure end-to-end coverage • Write and maintain clear, reproducible test documentation ready for automation • Assist in release readiness, regression checks, and exploratory testing • Proactively ask clarifying questions to rapidly and thoroughly understand the System Under Test (SUT) Required Skills and Experience: • 5+ years of manual testing experience • Strong experience testing desktop applications (e.g., Windows Desktop Apps) • Solid understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, and common response patterns • Familiarity with tools like Postman or Fiddler • Proficiency in UI validation: layout, behaviour, usability, edge case handling • Experience working in Agile environments with tools like: Azure DevOps Test Plans • Strong attention to detail and structured approach to testing • Experience working with remote or distributed teams Contract Details: • Type: Contractor (Inside IR35) • Duration: 6 months (extension possible) • Location: Remote (UK or Ireland) • Start Date: ASAP
