Job Title: Master Data Manufacturing SpecialistJob Description
This role is responsible for owning the manufacturing master data within the ERP environment, acting as the vital link between engineering, operations, and IT. The primary goal is to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and usability of data impacting production, BOMs, routings, and the alignment between ERP and the client. This is a hands-on role requiring data ownership in a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities
• Own and maintain ERP master data, including items, BOMs, routings, and configurations.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across ERP and MES systems.
• Conduct regular audits, validation, and cleansing of data.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements driven by data.
• Collaborate with IT to resolve data discrepancies and system issues.
• Support system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations.
• Document data standards, processes, and data flows.
• Train and support end-users on proper data entry and maintenance.
• Generate reports and provide insights on data quality and performance.
Essential Skills
• Hands-on master data management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Direct ERP ownership experience, not limited to reporting or analysis.
• Working knowledge of BOMs, routings, and manufacturing data structures.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, operations, and IT.
• Strong attention to detail with accountability for data accuracy.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data integrity issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle.
• Exposure to client systems and ERP/client alignment.
• Proficiency in data visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience in electronics, audio, or similar manufacturing environments.
• Participation in ERP or system implementations or upgrades.
• Data governance or data management certifications.
Work Environment
The role operates within a dynamic manufacturing environment, requiring the use of ERP systems like SAP or Oracle. The specialist will work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and IT teams to ensure data integrity and seamless system integration. The work setting encourages a detail-oriented approach while maintaining a focus on process improvement and effective communication across departments.
