Role description
Our client, a leading interactive entertainment company, is seeking a Marketing Data Scientist contractor to work on high-impact analytics and data science initiatives that support their Paid Media and Internal Marketing teams. This role will contribute to modeling user behavior (e.g., churn prediction), improving campaign targeting, and enabling smarter decision-making through AI-driven solutions. You will work cross-functionally with data scientists, analysts, marketers, and engineers to deliver models, insights, and data products that enhance marketing performance. Key Responsibilities β€’ Lead the development and deployment of data science solutions for marketing use cases (e.g., churn prediction, audience segmentation, lifetime value modeling) β€’ Clean, transform, and analyze large-scale data from multiple systems to support model development and campaign analytics β€’ Build and validate machine learning models using Python or R, and collaborate on their β€’ integration into production pipelines β€’ Design experiments and measurement strategies to assess campaign effectiveness and model impact β€’ Translate complex technical findings into actionable insights for marketing stakeholders β€’ Support the evolution of AI/ML practices within the marketing performance team β€’ Maintain clear documentation of modeling approaches, assumptions, and performance metrics Qualifications β€’ 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related technical role β€’ Strong proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modeling β€’ Solid understanding of supervised learning techniques (classification, regression), β€’ feature engineering, model evaluation, etc. β€’ 2+ years of hands-on experience writing complex SQL to extract and manipulate large β€’ datasets β€’ Familiarity with experimentation methods (e.g., A/B testing, uplift modeling) β€’ Strong communication skills; ability to explain models and methodologies to β€’ non-technical stakeholders β€’ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience with marketing data, paid media campaign performance, or user behavior modeling β€’ Exposure to AI tools or techniques (e.g., LLMs, recommendation systems, generative AI) β€’ Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and version control (e.g., Git) β€’ Experience in gaming, media, or entertainment industries
