Role description
Role: MES Developer Location: Florence, South Carolina / Bowling Green, Kentucky / Smyrna, Tennessee Employment Type: Full-time / Contract Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled MES Developer to design, develop, and maintain Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions that enable real-time visibility, control, and optimization of manufacturing operations. This role will interface with cross-functional teams to implement digital manufacturing solutions, integrate shop floor systems, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and configure MES applications based on production and operational requirements. • Customize workflows, dashboards, and reports to support real-time manufacturing operations. • Integrate MES with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and shop floor devices (PLCs, SCADA, IoT). • Troubleshoot and resolve MES application issues in coordination with production and IT teams. • Create and maintain documentation including functional specs, technical designs, and test cases. • Participate in validation and deployment of MES systems in a production environment. • Provide post-deployment support, updates, and enhancements. • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to improve process efficiency. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. • 3–6 years of experience developing and supporting MES solutions in a manufacturing environment. • Hands-on experience with MES platforms such as: • Siemens Opcenter (SIMATIC IT), Rockwell FactoryTalk, GE Proficy, AVEVA/Wonderware, Apriso, or Ignition MES. • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages: C#, .NET, Java, Python, JavaScript, or SQL. • Understanding of manufacturing systems integration with ERP, PLCs, SCADA, and HMI. • Experience with industrial protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, or MQTT. Must have Apriso
