Location: Remote ONLY in AL, FL, GA, MD, MI, OH, TN, TX, OR VA Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Metaswitch Engineer to support and maintain our existing legacy voice infrastructure while assisting in the transition to a next-generation communications platform. This role is critical in ensuring service continuity, minimizing downtime, and enabling a smooth migration path for our customers and internal teams. Key Responsibilities: • Maintain and support legacy Metaswitch systems associated with voice infrastructure. • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply patches or updates as needed. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute the migration to a new VoIP or cloud-native platform. • Document existing configurations and develop transition plans to ensure minimal disruption. • Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers and support staff. • Participate in change management and incident response processes. • Interface with vendors and third-party providers to resolve escalated issues. Required Skills & Experience: • 3–5+ years of experience working with Metaswitch platforms in a telecom or ISP environment. • Strong understanding of SIP, RTP, VoIP protocols, and network troubleshooting tools. • Experience with legacy voice systems and transitioning to cloud-native or IMS-based architectures. • Familiarity with Linux systems, scripting (e.g., Bash, Python), and network monitoring tools. • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). • Excellent documentation and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Perimeta SBC, MetaView Service Assurance Server, and MetaSphere CFS. • Experience working with Alianza Cloud Platform • Prior involvement in system migrations or platform upgrades.
